Photoshop for Android Launches in Beta with Generative AI Tools
Adobe has finally launched its Photoshop app for Android in beta, offering features like layering, AI-powered Generative Fill, and more for mobile photo editing enthusiasts.

The Photoshop beta app is available for free download on the Google Play Store. To ensure optimal performance, Adobe recommends devices running Android 11 or later with a minimum of 6GB RAM, though 8GB or more is preferred.
The Android beta version of Photoshop brings several of the desktop application’s core functionalities to mobile devices:
- Layering and Masking: Users can now work with multiple layers and apply masks, allowing for complex image compositions directly from their smartphones.
- Generative Fill: Powered by Adobe’s Firefly AI, this feature enables users to add or modify elements within an image seamlessly.
- Tap Select Tool: An intuitive tool that allows for quick selection and editing of specific parts of an image.
- Spot Healing Brush: This tool helps in removing unwanted elements or imperfections from photos effortlessly.
- Integration with Adobe Stock: Users have access to a vast library of free assets to enhance their projects.
“Since introducing Photoshop mobile, we’ve been inspired by creators using the app in unique ways, including crafting beautiful visual stories, creating digital art on the go and transforming everyday moments into art with powerful tools at their fingertips,” notes Adobe o its official blog.

While the current beta version offers a robust set of features, Adobe plans to expand its capabilities based on user feedback in the coming days.
Photoshop on iPhone is also available as a free download in the App Store.
