Apple’s Back to School 2025 Promo Now Live in Canada

Apple has launched its annual Back to School promotion in Canada, offering free gear like AirPods or accessories when you buy a new Mac or iPad through its education store. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman was correct again in reporting the promo would launch on June 17.
The promo runs from June 17 to September 30, 2025, and is open to college and university students, parents buying for post-secondary students, faculty, and K–12 staff. This year, it’s a bit different from last year as gift cards aren’t being offered anymore. Instead? You get to choose from a free item.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you get:
Buy a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac – Pick one free:
- AirPods 4 (with Active Noise Cancellation – $249 value)
- AirPods Pro 2 ($249 value)
- Magic Mouse (USB-C)
- White ($95 value)
- Black ($119 value)
- Magic Trackpad (USB-C)
- White ($159 value)
- Black ($179 value)
- Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad
- White keys ($229 value)
- Black keys ($249 value)
Last year, when you bought a Mac, you could get a $140 to $200 gift card. If you opt for AirPods 4 it’s worth $249, so technically it’s worth more this year. iMac purchases only can choose from AirPods Pro 4 or AirPods Pro 2.
Buy an iPad Air or iPad Pro – Get one free:
- Apple Pencil Pro ($159 value)
- Magic Keyboard (for iPad Air or Pro – $159 value)
- AirPods 4 ($179 value)
- AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation ($179 value)
- AirPods Pro 2 ($179 value)
In 2024, buying an iPad would only get you a $140 gift card, so this year you can get more value from free AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 4.
To qualify, you must buy through Apple’s online Education Store, at a physical Apple Store, or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. You’ll be charged full price upfront and get the accessory’s cost discounted at checkout. Both items need to be returned for a full refund.
So if you were hoping for an Apple Gift Card this year with your Mac or iPad purchase, it’s not happening. Apple is just including free accessories which likely saves them money (just the cost price of the product) versus handing out gift cards.
