Uber Ski Brings Easy Rides to Winter Resorts

Uber has just unveiled a new seasonal service named Uber Ski in the U.S. and Europe, that gives skiers and snowboarders a convenient, gear-friendly way to reach top mountain resorts.

Uber Ski is part of Uber’s broader reserved-ride option. Through the service, riders can book a vehicle capable of carrying winter sports equipment along with passengers. Users will see a new Uber Ski tile in the app, and can choose between two vehicle types depending on their group and equipment.

For smaller parties with gear, the UberXL option handles two people with equipment. For larger groups or more gear, the UberXXL variant can transport up to four people and all their gear. This flexibility helps avoid the usual headaches of trying to cram skis or snowboards into a small car.

One of the most convenient aspects of Uber Ski is advance booking. Riders can reserve their ski-season ride up to 90 days before departure. That means you can secure a reliable ride before planning your trip, providing greater peace of mind and avoiding last-minute scramble when heading to the mountains. The service remains active throughout the ski season, extending until the end of March.

To make winter travel even easier, Uber has partnered with Vail Resorts. Through this collaboration, users booking Uber Ski can also buy an Epic Pass or an Epic Day Pass directly via the Uber app at the time they reserve their ride.

Epic Pass grants season-long, unrestricted access to more than 90 ski resorts worldwide. Among the resorts covered are renowned destinations like Vail Mountain and Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado, Park City Mountain Resort in Utah, as well as Whistler Blackcomb in Canada.

Demand for such a service has apparently grown. Past experiments and limited-time launches have shown that winter travelers frequently open the Uber app near ski resorts. Now Uber is giving them the full ski-specific experience by rolling out Uber Ski across many of the top ski destinations in the United States and Europe, with Canada expected to follow closely.
