Amazon’s New Art Gallery TV Is Coming to Canada

Amazon is rolling out a major update to Fire TV, including a faster new interface, a redesigned mobile app, and a new TV called the Amazon Ember Artline that doubles as a digital art display. Some of these updates are confirmed for Canada. Again, this was part of Amazon’s CES 2026 announcements today.

Amazon says the goal is to make Fire TV quicker and easier to use, especially as streaming libraries continue to grow. The new Fire TV interface is cleaner and more organized, with separate home sections for movies, TV shows, live content, sports, and apps. Amazon says the software itself has been rebuilt, resulting in noticeable speed improvements. The update will arrive as a free software download on supported devices.

One new feature uses Alexa+ to let viewers jump directly to specific scenes in movies on Prime Video. Instead of scrubbing through a timeline, users can describe a moment from the film and Fire TV will skip straight to it. Alexa+ can also make personalized viewing recommendations and handle basic TV settings using voice commands.

Amazon is also refreshing the Fire TV mobile app. The updated app works as a remote but also lets users browse content, manage watchlists, and start playback on their TV while away from home. The redesign matches the new Fire TV look and will be available as a free download.

The biggest hardware announcement is the Amazon Ember Artline, Amazon’s first “lifestyle TV.” It is a 4K QLED TV with a matte screen designed to reduce glare and make artwork look more like a framed print. When not in use, the TV can display personal photos or artwork from a built-in library of more than 2,000 free pieces.

The Artline includes hands-free Alexa support, sensors that turn the display on or off when someone enters or leaves the room, and optional magnetic frames in multiple colours (Walnut, Ash, Teak, Black Oak, Matte White, Midnight Blue, Fig, Pale Gold, Graphite, and Silver). Amazon is also adding an AI feature that recommends artwork based on photos of the room where the TV will be placed.

In terms of availability, the new Fire TV interface and mobile app will begin rolling out in February in the U.S., with additional countries added later in the spring. Amazon has confirmed that Canada is included in the broader rollout.

The Amazon Ember Artline will go on sale later this spring in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and the UK, starting at $899 US for 55-inch and 65-inch models. Customers in Canada can already sign up to be notified when sales begin.

This is an aggressive push to rival Samsung’s The Frame TV, which has been around for a while and is a popular thin art gallery TV, that also allows you to customize with different frame colours.
