Apple Launches Education Hub in India to Train Workers

In an attempt to boost its manufacturing presence in India, Apple has just announced the launch of its first-ever Education Hub n Bengaluru. This new facility is designed to provide advanced technical training and skill-building for employees working across Apple’s supplier network.

The Bengaluru hub is a collaboration with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Starting in March 2026, the center will offer a specialized curriculum tailored for the modern factory floor. Instead of just general training, employees will dive into specific, high-tech fields like:

  • Swift Coding: Learning the language used to build iOS apps.
  • Robotics and Automation: Training on how to operate and maintain the complex machines that put iPhones together.
  • Smart Manufacturing: Understanding the digital systems that manage modern production lines.
  • Digital Literacy: Ensuring all workers have a strong foundation in modern tech tools.

One of the most interesting parts of this news is how Apple plans to scale the program. They are using a “train-the-trainer” model. Faculty from MAHE will train expert instructors at the Bengaluru hub. These instructors then head back to their respective factories to teach the material to larger groups of workers.

This program is starting first with employees at Tata Electronics, a key partner for Apple in India and will eventually expand to more than 25 supplier sites across the country.

India has rapidly become a vital hub for Apple, especially as the company looks to diversify its supply chain. With the iPhone 17 already seeing trial production in Indian facilities, the need for a highly skilled local workforce is at an all-time high.
