Tim Cook Reflects on Apple’s 50-Year Legacy [VIDEO]

In a recent interview with Good Morning America at Wadley Secondary School New York, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared his thoughts on the company’s legacy, celebrating its 50th year in business.

The setting for the interview was a classroom alive with creativity, where students were using technology donated by Apple through a partnership with the Save the Music Foundation. Cook expressed visible joy seeing the products in action, stating that Apple’s goal is to empower people to express themselves in ways they couldn’t before.

As Apple hits the half-century mark, Cook reflected on the company’s biggest contributions. While he acknowledged major product milestones, reinventing music with the iPod, transforming the smartphone with the iPhone, and even saving lives with the Apple Watch, he suggested the overall impact on creative arts and health has been profound.

However, the CEO also voiced concerns about how these very products affect society. Cook admitted he worries about people overusing their devices. “I don’t want people looking at the smartphone more than they’re looking in someone’s eyes,” he said, encouraging users to avoid endless scrolling and instead spend time in nature.

With the tech world currently focused on Artificial Intelligence, Cook struck a balanced tone. He described AI as “profound” and potentially very positive, but noted that the morality of technology depends entirely on the hands of the user and the inventor.

The conversation also touched on the current economic climate, specifically tariffs and US manufacturing. Cook highlighted Apple’s commitment to investing $600 billion in the US over the next four years. He noted that by the end of the year, all iPhone glass will be produced in Kentucky.
