Instagram Plus Premium Features Leaked
Instagram is currently testing a new subscription tier called “Instagram Plus,” a potential new offering that appears to be Meta’s answer to Snapchat Plus, providing power users and creators with a suite of exclusive features (via @MattNavarra).
The leak comes as Instagram continues to look for ways to diversify its revenue streams while giving creators more granular control over their audience engagement and content lifecycle.
According to leaked screenshots and early reports, Instagram Plus is a paid monthly subscription designed to unlock advanced functionality within the app. Unlike Meta Verified, which primarily focuses on the blue checkmark, impersonation protection, and direct customer support, Instagram Plus seems geared toward performance and analytics.
Early testing in markets like the Philippines suggests a price point of around PHP 65 per month, which translates to roughly $1.10 USD or $1.50 CAD. This low-cost entry point indicates that Meta is targeting a broad audience of casual creators and power users rather than just high-end businesses.
The most significant upgrades appear to be centered on Instagram Stories. One of the most talked-about features is “Story Rewatch Insights.” This would allow subscribers to see not only who viewed their story, but how many times a specific user returned to watch it again.
Other rumoured features include:
- Story Extend: The ability to keep a story live for 48 hours instead of the standard 24, without needing to repost it.
- Story Spotlight: A tool that ensures your story appears at the very beginning of your followers’ story carousels, providing a significant boost in visibility.
- Multiple Story Audiences: Moving beyond the “Close Friends” list, this would allow users to create various custom groups for different types of content.
- Links in Captions: Rumours suggest that Plus subscribers might finally be able to add clickable links directly into their standard post captions, a feature users have requested for over a decade.
While Meta has not yet made an official announcement regarding a global rollout, the presence of explainer pages in the Instagram Help Center suggests that a wider launch could be imminent.
