Meta’s Ray-Ban AI Glasses Finally Get Proper Prescription Styles
Meta is giving its smart glasses a much-needed upgrade for people who actually need to see. The company is launching new Ray-Ban Meta AI styles specifically built for prescription lenses, moving away from the “one size fits all” approach of earlier models.
The new Optics lineup features two fresh frame designs. There’s the Blayzer, which is a classic rectangular look, and the Scriber, a more rounded, modern shape. Both are designed to be lightweight enough to wear all day and come with adjustable nose pads and temple tips so they don’t slide off your face.

- Headliner in Matte Transparent Peach with Transitions Grey Lenses
- Wayfarer in Shiny Transparent Grey with Transitions Sapphire Lenses
On the software side, Meta is adding some genuinely useful features. Along with the usual Instagram and Spotify shortcuts, the glasses will soon handle pedestrian navigation and nutrition tracking. Also new in the translation department is live translation for 20 languages (including Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean) rolling out this summer.
If you’re more into sports, the Oakley Meta lineup is also getting some updates as well. They’re adding Prizm Dark Golf lenses to help with contrast on the course, and the Vanguard frames will now be available with Transitions lenses that adapt to whatever light you’re in.
Here are the new Oakley options:
- Vanguard Black with Prizm Black Lenses
- Vanguard White with Prizm Rose Gold Lenses
- Vanguard Black with Prizm Transitions Ember Lenses (available later this spring);
- HSTN Black with Prizm Dark Golf Lenses
- HSTN Light Curry with Clear to Brown Transitions Lenses
Pre-orders for the new prescription styles start today in the U.S., with a wider release at optical retailers on April 14. In Canada, the new Ray-Ban Meta Optics will start at $579.
