Tubi Expands Content Library With 600 Movies and Episodes

Tubi has announced a massive expansion to its library, adding over 600 movies and TV show episodes to its premium on-demand catalogue. Content from Disney, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Discovery has been added for Canadians.

The latest expansion in Canada adds movies like Assassin’s Creed, John Wick, Skyscraper, La La Land, The Other Guys, Tower Heist, Jurassic World, American Psycho, Happy Death Day 2U, The Bodyguard, and many more movies.

Other notable films include the likes of 21 Jump Street (2012), 22 Jump Street, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Air Force One, Bad Boys (1995), Bad Boys II, The Equalizer, The Fifth Element, The Karate Kid franchise, Pineapple Express, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, This is the End, and  The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The streaming company also revealed some stats on consumer behaviour and the Canadian community. According to Tubi’s recent The Stream report, 65 percent of Canadians feel a part of a community based on what they watch. 71 percent enjoy discussing a movie or show with others after viewing it. 78 percent of those within the report say streaming services need to remind users of content they used to love.

“The future of streaming is about serving fandoms at scale,” said David Salmon, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, International, at Tubi said in a press release. “As home to the largest library of movies and TV series in Canada, Tubi gives younger, multicultural consumers the breadth to explore everything they’re passionate about. The continued expansion of our market-leading library reinforces our commitment to championing every fandom, completely for free.”

According to the company, the streaming service has seen 30 percent year-over-year growth in monthly active users since 2020. Tubi has succeeded as a live streaming service, with over 100 million monthly active users. It has the “world’s largest collection of Hollywood movies and TV shows” available to stream for free.
