Meta Employees Might Soon Report to an AI Version of Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg is taking hands-on leadership to an entirely new level. Meta is reportedly building an AI version of its founder to chat with employees and give feedback when the real Zuck is busy elsewhere (like chilling in Hawaii).
According to sources speaking with the Financial Times, Meta is prioritizing a photorealistic, 3D character of Zuckerberg. This isn’t just a basic chatbot; it is being trained on his specific mannerisms, his tone of voice, and even his latest internal thoughts on company strategy. The idea is to make staff feel more connected to the boss through these real-time digital interactions.
Insiders say Zuckerberg is personally involved in training and testing his animated double. This project is separate from his CEO agent, which is more of a high-tech personal assistant designed to pull up data and help him manage his daily workload.
The move comes as Zuckerberg spends five to 10 hours a week personally coding and overseeing Meta’s massive AI pivot. While the company has already launched AI characters based on celebrities like Snoop Dogg, this internal Zuckerberg project is a bit more experimental. If it works, the tech could eventually be rolled out to influencers and creators who want to build digital versions of themselves to interact with fans.
However, not everyone at Meta is happy with the AI push. Sources say some product managers are being asked to complete vibe coding and technical design tests to establish a skills baseline. While Meta says these exercises are just for training, some staff are worried it might lead to more job cuts.
At this rate, why bother chatting with your boss in real life when you can just talk to his AI double and call it a day?
