God of War Laufey and Marvel’s Wolverine Are Highlights at PlayStation’s June State of Play

PlayStation held its 70-minute-long State of Play live stream this week. Throughout the presentation, viewers were given new looks at upcoming games, including Marvel’s Wolverine. Announcements for new titles like God of War Laufey, and Until Dawn were also shown.
With over an hour’s worth of games and two major titles given extended gameplay trailers, let’s cover everything shown at the State of Play for June 2026.
Marvel’s Wolverine (September 15)
Insomniac Games showcased an extended look at Wolverine’s brutal combat and darker tone ahead of its September 15 launch. The latest trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine also introduced Team X members, Jean Grey and the mutant-hunting Reavers. For a Marvel fan, this trailer has done a lot to get me excited for the fall.
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls (August 6)
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, the upcoming fighter, revealed three new playable characters: Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage. The trio joins Doctor Doom as part of the game’s expanding story-focused Episode Mode.
Rayman Legends Retold (October 1)
Ubisoft is reimagining Rayman Legends as a 3D platformer with new story content, stages, and gameplay additions. The remake launches October 1 with support for up to four-player co-op.
Bancho the Chef (TBD)
This standalone prequel to Dave the Diver blends cooking simulation, restaurant management, and RPG mechanics. Players will travel the world mastering culinary techniques while building Bancho’s reputation as a sushi chef.
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen (TBD 2027)
Ikumi Nakamura’s Unseen Studios unveiled Kemuri, a supernatural action-adventure set in a city where life and death coexist. Players can explore solo or in co-op when it launches in 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (Feb 12, 2027)
Lara Croft returns February 12, 2027, in a new adventure inspired by the series’ classic roots. The latest trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis teased segments from the Peru Lost Valley location, the return of characters, and plenty of exploration.
The Lost Wild (TBD 2027)
This dinosaur survival horror game emphasizes stealth and survival over combat. In The Lost Wild, players must navigate a dangerous ecosystem where dinosaurs behave like realistic animals rather than traditional monsters.
Phantom Blade Zero (Oct 29)
Phantom Blade Zero is a stylish action RPG that appeared briefly to announce a dedicated live stream presentation later this summer. More gameplay details and story information will be revealed ahead of its October 29 launch, delayed from September.
Dune Awakening (September 22)
The survival adventure set on Arrakis comes to PS5 on September 22. This version of Dune Awakening includes a new single-player mode, expanded story content, and numerous gameplay enhancements.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered (October 1)
Koei Tecmo is reviving a fan-favourite with a remastered package that combines Dynasty Warriors 3 and Xtreme Legends. The classic hack-and-slash experience returns October 1 with updated visuals and modern enhancements.
No Rest For The Wicked (October)
Moon Studios confirmed its action RPG will arrive on PS5 this October. No Rest for the Wicked is an action RPG built for solo and co-op, set within a Souls-like combat. At launch, a reported 100+ hours of content will be available, including new powerful weapons, bosses and areas to explore.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword (September 25)
Capcom’s supernatural samurai adventure launches September 25. A playable demo of Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available now, offering an early taste of the game’s combat and progression systems.
Silent Hill Townfall (September 24)
Konami’s latest Silent Hill title arrives September 24. A new trailer introduced the protagonist, Zoe, and teased fresh horrors lurking within the Otherworld.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (October 2)
Bandai Namco’s latest aerial combat sim launches October 2 on PS5. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve features 30 aircrafts, a new campaign, and massive enemy encounters, it promises another high-octane entry in the long-running franchise.
Stuntman: Hollywood (TBD)
Stuntman: Hollywood is an episodic racing game where players take on the role of a stunt driver, racing in some of pop culture’s most iconic cars. Race and complete “films” with precise driving and gameplay twists to vary the experience.
Ill (2027)
Ill is a first-person horror game that continues to impress with grotesque creature designs and realistic physics. Its latest trailer highlighted intense body horror and a detailed dismemberment system.
Control Resonant (September 24)
Announcing its September 24th release date, Control Resonant showed new footage of protagonist Dylan as he explores a reality-wrapped Manhattan in search of his sister, Jessie. Dylan is equipped with evolving powers and a shape-shifting weapon, making Remedy Entertainment’s latest one to look out for.
Marathon Nightfall (Out Now)
Marathon Season 2 is available now. New players can jump in during Open Play Week from June 2 to June 9 without requiring a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Until Dawn 2 (2027)
Firesprite Games is developing a standalone sequel to Until Dawn. Set on a mysterious tropical island, the horror adventure introduces a new cast and another branching story driven by player choices. The game stars Dacre Montgomery, Neil Newbown and sees Peter Stormare return as Dr. Alan J. Hill.
God of War Laufey (TBD)
Santa Monica Studio shifts the spotlight to Faye, Kratos’ now deceased wife, in the next chapter of the God of War saga. The adventure explores her journey through the afterlife of the gods, facing new enemies, including Sekhmet and Begtse, two respective gods of the Egyptian and Mongolian pantheons..
God of War Laufey sees Deborah Ann Woll return to the role with Jack Quaid joining as Phranque, a jelly-like cube. Faye explores the gods’ afterlife, called the Everywhen, in hopes of finding her way home.
