Samsung Releases Spidey Tracker in Partnership With Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Samsung has partnered with Sony Pictures, launching its own Spidey Tracker interactive experience ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Spidey Tracker lets users track Spider-Man’s “location” on a Samsung Galaxy device, such as a Galaxy Z-series foldable or a Galaxy Watch. It’s a cute movie tie-in experience meant to replicate the in-movie tracking system developed by Ned Leeds, played by Jacob Batalon.
In a real-world sense, the Spidey Tracker offers cast interviews to watch, live activation spotlights, content drops, easter eggs and more. Fans can submit their own sightings of Spider-Man. The experience can be viewed on the Spidey Tracker website in Canada and in 34 other regions worldwide.
The launch of the Spidey Tracker is made possible through a partnership between Samsung and Sony Pictures. In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Ned is shown using Samsung devices to try to locate the hero. In the movie trailer, the titular character is also seen using Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip.
“Spider-Man has always been a hero defined by his connection to his community. Teaming up with Samsung helped bring that spirit to life both on screen and beyond, integrating the technology people use every day into Spider-Man’s world while also bringing innovative and fun new ways for fans to engage through the Spidey Tracker,” said Jeffrey Godsick, Executive Vice President, Global Partnerships, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In a press release, Samsung teases that fans may spot Spider-Man at participating Samsung Experience Stores this summer.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theatres on July 31st. It sees star Tom Holland return as Peter Parker alongside co-stars Batalon and Zendaya. It serves as the last entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before this winter’s highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.
