DoorDash’s New Tool Lets AI Order Your Food, And Canadians Get Early Access
DoorDash is taking a massive step into the future of food delivery. The company has officially announced a new software tool that allows your AI chatbots to order meals on your behalf.
Co-founder Andy Fang revealed the limited test phase of the new system, which is called dd-cli. This command-line tool acts as a direct bridge, letting AI agents search through local restaurants, find the best deals, and complete the checkout process without any human clicking involved. Fang shared the news online, stating verbatim, “Today we’re opening up the DoorDash CLI in limited beta,” said Fang on Wednesday.
DoorDash is offering early access strictly through a waitlist for macOS developers in the United States and Canada. This means Canadian devs will be among the very first to experiment with having their AI software handle office catering or sync with a daily calendar to automatically order lunch during busy work hours.
Think of it this way. Instead of you opening the DoorDash app to order lunch, your AI agent could do it for you: search restaurants, hunt for the best deals, and complete the checkout. Welcome to the future, folks.
