Google Search AI Mode Adds More App Connections, But Not in Canada Yet

Google is expanding its artificial intelligence tools by letting you link third-party applications right into your search results. The update is starting to roll out to users in the U.S. this week. The feature will likely expand beyond the U.S. to Canada but for now its launch is limited.

By using AI Mode in Google Search, you can now connect your favourite services and interact with them right away. This setup means you’ll save time as you stay in one place instead of forcing you to jump between different apps or websites.

Google gives the example of how planning a meal can be easier. How? You can now connect your Instacart account to have the AI drop grocery ingredients directly into your shopping cart. You can then complete the purchase on the Instacart in a few taps.

For your creative projects, you can ask Google to pull up flyer and design templates from Canva right on your results page. The feature also works for entertainment, allowing you to generate a custom party playlist and save it straight to your YouTube Music.

Google says they are currently working with a variety of partners and plan to launch direct integration for even more apps soon.
