iPhone SE 3 Said to Enter Trial Production Phase Ahead of Expected Early 2022 Launch

Apple’s third-generation iPhone SE is reportedly entering its trial production phase. Suppliers and manufacturers are revving up for the true production phase ahead of what’s said to be an early 2022 release for the ‘iPhone SE 3’.

MyDriver reports that trial production has kicked off within Apple’s supply chain. This phase is conducted to prepare the supply chain ahead of mass production and ensure that all will go off without a hitch. Sources have also told the outlet that mass production will be starting soon, which would indicate that Apple is preparing for an early 2022 launch date for the new device.

The new report supports previous claims that the iPhone SE 3 would launch in the first half of 2022. It’s said that the third-generation entry-level iPhone will support the same core design philosophy of the previous two editions. Therefore, it’s expected that the iPhone SE 3 will feature the Home button and Touch ID once again. The overall size is said to be the same as well, so expect a more compact 4.7-inch device.

However, more recently, it’s been reported that the iPhone SE 3 will sport a faster A15 chip. This will see performance increased alongside the device’s expected 3GB RAM. Camera improvements are also said to be featured in the new device. Though, they will likely only be marginally upgraded from the iPhone SE 2.

On April 24, 2020, Apple launched the iPhone SE 2. This gives us a rough estimate of when the new iteration of the phone may be released to the public.
