Telus has just announced the debut of their 4G LTE network in Metro Vancouver, after previewing the announcement earlier this year. As of today, Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, West Vancouver, North Vancouver and South Delta now have access to the “fastest wireless technology in the world.”
Telus will also expand its 4G LTE network in the coming months to other Lower Mainland communities, Southern Vancouver Island, Whistler, Prince George, the Okanagan and Peace River region. By the end of 2012, close to 90 percent of BC will have access to the new 4G LTE network.
“We are committed to offering you the best customer experience and launching our 4G LTE service across Metro Vancouver and in numerous other B.C. communities is an excellent example of that,” said Mike Black, TELUS vice-president of Customer Solutions Delivery in B.C. “With an LTE device our customers can enjoy the fastest wireless technology available in the world today – we are continuing to expand this new technology, community by community, so that by the end of the year nearly 90 per cent of B.C. residents are expected to have access. It’s an ambitious undertaking.”
The TELUS 4G LTE network went live across 14 cities in Canada this past February. In March, Telus announced a $3 billion investment in BC over three years to further expand their 4G LTE network.
All we need now is a new iPhone to take advantage of these new LTE networks in Canada, right?
