Apple Announces October 22 iPad Special Event [u]

Apple has sent out invitations to the press today confirming it will be holding a special event on October 22, announces AllThingsD. The latter originally reported the October 22 date last week, which is rumoured to showcase new iPads, OS X Mavericks and Mac announcements as well.
The Loop reports the event will start at 10AM Pacific Time at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, whereas last year’s event took place in San Jose. Below is an image of the invite via TechCrunch, which reads “We still have a lot to cover.”
This invite image has a similar theme to last year’s, which read “We’ve got a little more to show you.”:

Last year’s event saw Apple announce:
- iPad mini
- Fourth generation iPad
- iBooks 3.0
- 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro
- New iMac, Mac mini refresh
- Fusion Drive for Macs
