Apple Stores to Slowly Reopen Starting in Early April, Details Company Memo

Apple Stores are set to slowly reopen starting April 5, according to a new memo sent to Apple employees, reports Bloomberg.

Apple retail stores were closed worldwide (except for China) earlier in March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Senior Vice President of People and Retail Deirdre O’Brien, has informed employees extended work at home is also coming, due to ongoing concerns with coronavirus.

“In all our offices outside of Greater China, we are extending flexible work arrangements for all team members — outside of those whose work requires them to be onsite — through at least April 5, which will then be reevaluated weekly depending on your location,” according to the March 23 update seen by Bloomberg.

In the United States, President Trump recently said he wants the country ‘opened up’ by Easter (April 12), in a move defying what public health experts are saying would overwhelm hospitals if more people get infected with COVID-19.

Nine days ago, Apple announced it would be closing all 458 of its retail stores outside of Greater China, including locations in Canada, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

It’s unclear if Apple Stores in Canada would be part of this staggered reopening, but stay tuned.
