Scotiabank Mobile Cheque Deposits Coming By End of the Year


Last month Scotiabank for iPhone was updated with Touch ID support for signing in, but still missing was the ability to make mobile cheque deposits, a feature available with competitors such as CIBC, TD Canada Trust and RBC.

However, in the latest communication from Scotiabank’s social media team, they informed iPhone in Canada reader @robertadrive the feature would be available “by the end of the year.”

Numerous customers applauded the addition of Touch ID within reviews of the app in iTunes, but many are still patiently waiting for the arrival of mobile cheque deposits. Scotiabank aims to deliver that feature by the end of the year, so stay tuned.

    For those who can get it to work… I still get the error message mentioned in the original post, and customer service was completely unhelpful on that point.

    I had that same problem. I upgraded my iPhone before the update. I solved this by “Activating for Mobile Banking” again despite already . Once successfully activated (again). I killed the app and waited a bit. I then turned on Touch ID and it worked for me ever since. Hope it works for you too.

    I already tried that, to no avail. Also tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and all the regular stuff like that, and it didn’t work, sadly.
    I can try reactivating mobile banking again, but not sure it’ll change anything (unless they changed something on the backend since my first try).

    I had the same problem and those steps solved it for me. However, I did go to the bank first and the lady called tech support but I could not stay to the end (over 30 minutes on the phone). I registered again and that solved my problem.

    Great news, does anyone know if the other banks limit the amount you can deposit from mobile?
