Apple Announces China to Get Wi-Fi + Cellular iPads on Jan. 18

Apple has just issued a press release to note Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad fourth generation and iPad mini models will be made available in China this Friday:

Apple® today announced the Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of iPad® mini and the new fourth generation iPad with Retina® display will be available in China on Friday, January 18.

Suggested retail pricing is the same as in the US and Canada.

China remains a huge market for the Cupertino company. Back in December, Apple had over 2 million weekend iPhone 5 sales in the country. Apple CEO Tim Cook, on a recent trip to China told the Xinhua in Beijing “China is currently our second largest market. I believe it will become our first. I believe strongly that it will.” Cook further reiterated China is a “very very important country to us.”

Apple is slated to announce its Q1 2013 earnings on January 23rd, set to be one of the company’s most successful fiscal quarters to date.
