Apple Teases an Exciting Week Ahead, and the iPad mini Is Just the Start

Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak says the company has a big week ahead, and it kicked off this morning with the new OLED iPad mini.

Joswiak teased the week on X at 6:15 a.m. PT on Monday, sharing a 75-second video of the redesigned tablet with his post.

“It’s going to be an exciting week, and it starts with our all-new iPad mini,” wrote Joswiak, who went on to call the refresh “the biggest update ever to iPad mini.”

That wording is telling, because Apple already has something on the calendar. The company is holding its “Pro and Tell” media experience in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, starting at 10 a.m. PT, an event Joswiak confirmed last week.

Spreading launches across several days before an event is a familiar move for Apple. In February, Tim Cook promised a “big week ahead” and the company followed with daily announcements leading up to its March 4 experience, a stretch that brought the MacBook Neo and iPhone 17e to Canada.

Exactly what comes next is still rumour. Bloomberg reported on Sunday that Apple will unveil 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touch-enabled OLED displays on Wednesday, with a Dynamic Island replacing the notch. The outlet also expects an M6 version of the base 14-inch MacBook Pro and a new iMac.

On Monday morning, Bloomberg‘s Apple reporter added on X that an M6 iMac and MacBook Pro on Tuesday, followed by the touchscreen MacBook Pro on Wednesday, “would make sense” based on how Apple has handled recent launch weeks. Apple hasn’t confirmed any of it.

Earlier this month, Bloomberg also reported that Apple planned a store reset for November 6, which happens to be the same day the new iPad mini starts reaching customers.

Canadians can pre-order the iPad mini starting Wednesday, with prices from $949 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model. If you’d rather skip the Apple Store line, the cellular iPad mini is already on Amazon, though Wi-Fi models haven’t shown up there yet.

Pricing on any new Macs could sting here, since Apple already raised Mac and iPad prices in Canada in June. We’ll have Canadian pricing as soon as Apple makes it official, so stay tuned to iPhone in Canada all week.

Are you holding out for a touchscreen MacBook Pro this week, or is the new iPad mini the only Apple upgrade on your list?
