Yorkdale Apple Store’s Newer and Larger Location Revealed [FLOOR PLANS]

If you have ever been to Canada’s first Apple Store (especially on a weekend) you know that place turns into a sauna and getting to the back of the store can take up to 10 minutes.

Okay, I’m exaggerating a tad, but if you have been there, you know exactly what I’m trying to get at.

Whispers of an Apple store expansion have been floating around the Urban Toronto forums since Yorkdale announced its latest round of expansions, last year.

But this updated mall floor plan posted on the Oxford Properties website now confirms that the Apple store is moving into the new wing, and should be open once the renovations are complete, sometime in the Fall. The new location will be southwest of the current location, as seen below:

Apple is tripling their space to 9,830 sq. feet.  The original Apple store is 3,539 sq. feet. Interestingly, the Microsoft store is opening (first rumoured in February) two stores down from Apple.

There is a space that is between Apple and Microsoft that does not yet have a tenant, a perfect space for Samsung’s first Canadian store.

Do you welcome the Apple store expansion, or should Apple have just opened more stores in other malls?

Update 1: Looks like Oxford Properties has replaced the floor plans we posted about with an older version that does not show the new mall expansion.
