Confirmed: Rogers To Release 15GB Data Plan, Evidence

by X1Zero on June 5th, 2009

On Wednesday we were discussing a new Data Plan option that is coming from Rogers on June 16, 2009. It includes 15GB of data per month and costs a hefty $150 per month! The new Data Plan supports all Rogers Smartphones, iPhones, Blackberries, and Mobile Internet Sticks and seems to be geared toward very heavy data users.

Today we have further evidence about the release of this new plan. Below are two print-outs from a Data Plan page from the Rogers Consumer Sales Guide for the second quarter starting June 2, 2009.

The first image below (left) is of the entire page and the second image (right) is a close-up of the bottom of the first image. The second image gives you a closer look at the new 15GB data plan.

15GB…that is ALOT of data for a mobile device, but obviously there are enough people using that kind of throughput to make Rogers release this!

As I am still enjoying the $30 6GB plan, the flex rate plan seems reasonable to new users. 15GB per month...really can't imagine how to use up that level of data without tethering.

I've heard people say 'why pay $150 for 15 gigs, when Rogers caps Data overages at $100?'

If you read the small print, the $100 overages cap is only good to 10GBs.
Sounds like some people must of been going over 10 gigs for Rogers to bring out this big Data plan!?!?
  • Definitely. Has to be. And it had to be ALOT of people too.
There are people willing to pay.
  • I would get it, if I had the money to pay that much a month! lol

Is the $30 6 gig data plan coming back anytime soon? I know Rogers has it for the HTC magic and dream but what about the iphone?
  • I think we can expect it to stay until atleast August 2009
