Financing Now Available for Purchases at the Apple Online Store Canada

Share:

The Apple Store was down last night, and it looks like new changes were made to the Canadian Store. Apple Financing is now available for purchases online of $750 or more. If you recall, just over a week ago Apple Canada matched the prices of Apple USA for the MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac.

Customers looking to take advantage of this option will be required to apply online for a Apple Financial Service Account number. Once approved, a package will arrive in the mail with information to use during your checkout to complete your purchase.

During the promotional period, no payments are required for your first three months if you reside outside Quebec. Within Quebec, you get no interest for the first three months, but will have to make minimum payments. Here are the specific details below:

Shop Apple. Get special financing.

Take advantage of special financing for three months when you buy a Mac, iPad, or any other products using an Apple Financial Services Account.

All provinces except Quebec: Get three months same-as-cash financing on your Apple Online Store purchase of $750 or more. Interest will accrue at the Preferred Rate from the date of purchase. If the purchase amount, plus any applicable fees or charges, is not paid in full by the Promotional Due Date, the accrued interest is charged to the account at 19.99% per annum.

Quebec residents: Get three months no-interest financing on your Apple Online Store purchase of $750 or more. A monthly payment equal to the greater of $10 or 3.5% of the outstanding balance is required during the promotional period. If balances are not paid in full by the end of the applicable period, or if a required payment is made late, interest will be charged from the purchase date at 19.99% per annum.

Apple Financial Services was previously unavailable to Canadians, but was widely seen throughout the US Apple Store. This is a great option for those looking to finance purchases of their next Apple product (it could be the iPhone 5!).

Anyone planning to take advantage of this?

Thanks to @EagleLooking78 for the ‘eagle eyes’ on this one!

How does it work and What does 3 months same-as-cash mean?

Never talk about the terms?  Is this financing meaning 12/24/36 installments or some other things?  I am just confused…

  • The three month promo period, from what Apple indicates means you won’t have to make any monthly payments for the first three months. As for financing installments, I’m sure once people apply the package will let you know. This is pretty new at the moment.

It’s just like using a best buy CC. if you pay the balance of in the first three months there is no interest.”same as cash”. But after the 3 months. Interest is tacked on including the 3 month “same as cash” period until it’s paid off.

  • So I guess that means 3 months no interest, then you can choose from paying in 12/24/36??  I have just applied they gave me 10K credit it might be a good thing or bad thing then….

  • 10K credit? SCORE! Time for a Mac Pro. 😉

My advice would be to pay off any debts as fast as you can.

I’m so confused, let me get this straight.

    1) Financing Plan (outside QC) allows you 3 months no payments, correct?
    2) How long will I be paying off my product? Like RC said 12/24/36?
    3) Installments are not known? Or is it a ‘take total and divide by promotional time period i.e. 12/24/36
    4) Do you have to pay $750 up front? Or is it eligibility of financing when something is valued at $750+
    5) Interest of 19.99%/annum occurs if I’m unable to pay the amount within the promotional time period i.e. 12/24/36?
    6) Finally, do credit scores dictate your eligibility/installment owingpermonth price?

This would really help me. Thanks to whomsoever answers. :)

Anyone know that proper merchant # to add Apple FS – TDFS to your online bill payment list?

Called several times and end up on hold longer than I can wait and have written 3 letters asking for the info and not a single response.

  • Onlybs

    Hi Scott,

I applied for apple financing and was approved quickly. I too now have no idea how to pay the bill? I have not received a bill yet either.  Easy to get but confusing as to how to pay. Hope someone can help….? Mailing cheques is so old school, shame on apple.
