Apple Almost Pushed Series 9 Owners to Buy a New Watch. It Was All a Mistake.
When Apple published its watchOS 27 preview page on the web, it made clear that only Apple Watch Ultra 2/3, Series 10/11 and SE 3 would support the upcoming operating system.
Left for dead was Apple Watch Series 9, joining Series 6, 7 and 8, plus SE 2 and Ultra 1 as omissions.
But it turns out it was one giant mistake that Apple Watch Series 9 was left for dead. Apple confirmed to 9to5Mac that Series 9 does indeed support watchOS 27 (developers were able to successfully install it on their watches). But it did not update its website–until now:
So, it was just one big mistake that Series 9 was accidentally left off the website. I wonder how many people went out to buy a new Apple Watch to get access to watchOS 27 beta. If you’re a Series 9 owner–did you have a short freak out initially?
