Ontario Court Rules in Favour of Uber’s Ridesharing Service in Toronto

Earlier today, an Ontario court ruled in favour of Uber’s ridesharing service in Toronto. The court dismissed the city’s case to shut down Uber.

The decision means that you can continue to use Uber’s safe, reliable, and affordable rides throughout Toronto. Uber says they are excited to continue working with Mayor John Tory and Toronto City Council.

“We are also incredibly grateful for the support riders and drivers have shown us in recent weeks – thank you, Toronto! We will keep you informed on our progress at City Hall over the coming months and you can continue to make your voice heard on social media, using the hashtag #TO4Uber.”

Are you excited to see Uber continue in the city of Toronto? Let us know in the comments below.

Taxi services should look at what is currently going on, and try to better their services instead of being cry babies.

Yet they’re still not properly insured …..

Yes! Got nothing against Taxi drivers and their frustrations, but it’s about time that this industry starts to better their 100 years old inefficient way of doing things! I’ve been there: called 5 times to get a d… taxi, waiting for more than an hour not knowing what’s going on… So we, the users, also have had quite a few frustrations too and the taxi industry never really innovate to make things better for us. Maybe the Uber approach will force them to grown up and get more efficient, and provide us with some sort of an app too….

I wonder how many city politicians own a taxi plate who are voting to go after Uber. Can anyone say #ConflictofInterest!

I just got picked up by an English speaking driver in a 3 series for HALF the price of a taxi coming from downtown…..took them one minute to come as opposed to waiting 15 mins for a taxi….

Uber doesn’t own a fleet of taxi, Airbnb doesn’t own a bunch of vacation properties..the traditional ways of doing business will change sooner or later.
