The folks over at GSM Arena have got their hands on a purported Samsung Galaxy Note 4 device, the Korean company’s forthcoming phablet planned for release later this year. Looking at the pictures, the Galaxy Note 4 looks quite similar to the current Note 3 from the front, though the rear and the sides seem to be revamped.

“There’s a plastic-like inlay in the side-frame that seems to add more water to the frame being metal rumors. The S Pen holster is etched into the side of the phone and there’s a microUSB 3.0 port at the bottom along with a speaker grille.”

The purported device seems to host a heart rate monitor alongside the camera lens on the back. The source also notes that display of the Galaxy Note 4 should be 5.7” like its predecessor but with an improved resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (QHD).

Samsung is said to release the Galaxy Note 4 on September 3 on the IFA floor, which will reportedly start shipping on September 15. As usual, Samsung seems to be planning its release around the expected ‘iPhone 6’ launch next month to impact Apple’s initial week sales.

Meanwhile, take a look at some more images of the Galaxy Note 4 along with the leaked retail box of the device:
