Twitter Begins Rolling Out Redesigned Web Interface to Select Users

Having previously teased a web redesign featuring a rather simplified look than the current three-column view, Twitter has today started rolling out the new web interface to select users. According to Engadget, the simplified new design features two-column layout, keyboard shortcuts, revamped trends, and more.

With the help of new keyboard shortcuts, users can navigate around much faster, whereas a dedicated emoji button makes it easier to add some smilies to your latest tweet. The trend section has also been updated in the new interface with much-improved search results.

The new interface is so far only limited to select Twitter users through an opt-in button.

“It’s thankfully about more than cosmetics, even if it doesn’t have everything users might like.

It doesn’t appear to include some of the big updates Twitter mentioned recently, such as status updates. And no, there’s no edit button. Still, it’s notable that Twitter is giving its web client an overhaul after focusing so much of its attention on mobile users.”

Twitter has not yet announced when the new interface will become broadly available. Let us know if the new Twitter for web has been activated for you and how you like it as compared to the old layout.
