The Canucks are the worst. Watching their fan base doesn’t even feel like hockey. They’re the perfect compliment to a plastic, soulless, highly overpriced city with crappy weather that takes it’s saving grace in the idea you can go hike in a nice place nearby once in a blue moon and then order Blenz on the way home. That ubiquitous mentality should be a grand testament to the fact that the city is a massive failure; when the best thing about the city is leaving the city. Vancouver used to be a great place, but has sucked at so many levels in the last 10 years, lacking any sense of culture or community, eradicating it with sterile shoebox condos every step of the way. Very glad I no longer live there.

You hit the nail on the head. we lived in Vancouver for 4 years, where it was hard to find friends because it’s a cliquey city, where people don’t make eye contact and don’t like chit chat, and that dreaded dreary rain makes people so angry and unhappy all the time.

But don’t forget, Vancouver is still the best city in the world for , where you can go snowboarding, golfing and cycling all in the same day (but nobody does that ever).

Vancouver does have good food, but there is no culture, everyone is too materialistic and self conscious, always trying to one-up each other, only to be pushed down by some other new big fish in the sea.

The only people you’ll hang out with are people from outside of vancouver, and even then they will get brainwashed and soon you’ll think there’s something wrong with you but really it’s the city lacking any soul.
