3G iPhone Coming in 60 Days!

…according to Walt Mossberg from the Wall Street Journal. In a report from 9to5mac, Walt speaks about broadband in the US, and near the end of the segment, he mentions that the 3G iPhone will be here in 60 days. News coming from Walt should be a good source I would think, given his history with the iPhone.

If you don’t know who Walt Mossberg is, he was one of the “secret” testers of the iPhone before it was released in the US. He got one of the units and just loved it. If history repeats itself, then it is most likely that Walt is using a 3G iPhone courtesy of Apple. Who knows if he accidentally spilled the beans on the 3G release, given all the recent rumors surrounding the issue.

In the following video, title “How the FTC Should Stop Calling DSL Broadband“, Mr. Mossberg spills the beans at 6:35 in…watch it for yourself:

Considering how the iPhone is not even in Canada yet…this might be a hint that it could be coming. But then again, what’s the point of a 3G iPhone in Canada, if our data plans here are just pure and utter poop? We need a new GSM carrier in Canada, NOW folks!

Thanks 9to5mac!

SERIOUSLY!! What are people whining about Rogers or Fido data plans for? YES for the business Data devices they are horrible, but take a look at the phones out now: The LG VU TU915 as the most obvious example. It is alos a touch screen phone and you know what? Rogers made it a Vision phone, so it would qualify for the $7 UNLIMITED on device mobile browsing, so if Rogers simply made the iPhone a Vision phone, then guess what guys? UNLIMITED internet surfing onthe iPhone for $7! Beat THAT USA! And yes, there is the possibility that some of the data apps on the iPhone will incur data charges, much like the N95’s extra apps, but unlimited internet surfing for $7 a month? Rogers already did it with the Nokia N95 (which everyone mistakenly thought was going ot be a smartphone and thus under the smartphone data plan, WHICH it was NOT! It can use internet with the $7 unlimited browsing plan) and the LG VU TU915, which is pretty darn similar to the iPhone, so I can’t see why Rogers would make the LG VU a Vision phone, but NOT do it with the iPhone. I don’t know if they ARE, but they COULD, and there goes all the whining about Roger’s data plans RIGHT out the window in one fell swoop! 🙂
