Welcome to iPhoneinCanada.ca 3.0!
You might have noticed that the blog has just undergone a major revision! I thought it would be timely to keep the blog looking fresh and new, since iPhone OS 3.0 and the iPhone 3GS was released too. Also, what a fitting day to reveal the new them on July 4th from the largest Canadian iPhone blog out there!
This has been our 3rd major theme update, and hopefully it is something that will make spreading Canadian iPhone news better for everyone to read, share, and discuss.
We now have a “featured” section up top for our popular posts, and new logo, plus other minor changes. It’s still a work in progress so please, I ask for your patience while we do some tests and smooth out all the wrinkles. A big shout out goes to Joshua Denney from ThinkWebStrategy for helping us with this awesome looking theme!
More important, I’d like thank YOU for reading this blog and all the support over the past year and a half! Thanks everyone!

Good job! Keep up with the awesome blog!
Cheers 🙂
Yes, and please add more flashy flashy graphics! My computer screen isn’t blinking enough yet! I’m hardly having any seizures at all!
I concur ! Great blog…I recommend it to all my coworkers who acquire an iPhone…and I’ve found that by wearing my 3D glasses I got from going to see “Up! in 3D” that the flashing advertisements down the right side of the page aren’t as obtrusive 😉
I also followed the link to the most popular post (your 1 year anniversary give-away) and re-tweeted the Sony DVD player giveaway….and THEN checked the date on the post….<>
seems to render better when using internal browsers of tweetdeck and tweetie
Looks greats !
I love the new logo 🙂
Keep up the good work. This is a great iPhone resource.
An most important, it looks great on an iPhone.
Hey, looks good!
I have to say that the large animated ad at the top is a annoying, it takes up almost half of the vertical space on the front page. and then you’ve got the big sidebar ads, some of which blink annoyingly in 1990’s-website style. Honestly speaking the blinking ads in particular cheapen the look of your site.
I know you’ve got to make money but I think there are more attractive and less obtrusive ways to do it
also, your Popular posts/recent forums box seems misplaced in the centre column, shouldn’t it be on the sidebar above or below the ads? as it stands, the space to its left which gets filled with another(!) ad, which then furthers the first impression when you open the site that it’s MORE ads than content. my suggestion would be to keep the ads at top & sidebar and out of the main column area.
anyhow, I love reading your site every day, the content is great, but hey you asked what we think! 🙂
Looks great, I enjoy the info, especially as I look at moving toward the iPhone this month when my BB can be upgraded.
First of all, thank you for the excellent resource for Canadian iphone information. The content here is often very helpful and I appreciate all the efforts of those who contribute.
But with regard the new design, I share some of the sentiments with the previous comments above. And I only offer these criticisms to help you improve your blog on the whole. I have been educated and employed in interface design related work, so perhaps I can help a little…
So.. the massive banner ad is horribly confusing and intrusive. I can’t figure out if its content or an ad. From a revenue perspective that may seem like a good thing, and sometimes it is, but this is excessive and, in my opinion, only going to deter users from clicking on it or other links. Also, because of this banner, you can hardly see a blog post without having to scroll down. New users will be confused, annoyed and ultimately go elsewhere.
The links on the side are also tacky and too numerous. When reading a web page, visual overload like that automatically makes users look away. I would dare to say that you would generate more site revenue by having less sponsored links and/or less imagery. Look at the advertising model for sites like Engadget or elsewhere; very clean and seamlessly integrated with the user experience. This site is starting to feel like visual frogger as one looks for content in a pile of ads. Have you thought about google adsense or some other sort of less obtrusive revenue generating program?
Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Take them however you like. And again, I really appreciate the blog and your efforts.
Fantastic site. Congratulations. I like the new look with the exception of the advertisements. It would be much more pleasent if they weren’t so large and flashy. Especially the home page.
Looks clean and simple… I like that in websites.
Looks great!
Should put some flash video!
Nice work, but I do find the new banner above very annoying.
Site looks awesome guys! keep up the good work!
The new site looks terrible…
looks like you’re off my RSS feeds now
Hey guys,
Keep up the good work… I’ve been reading your blog since day 1 and I enjoy it.
As constructive comments, I think the new UI is very nice but The ad banner in the middle of the text and post is very annoying and mess up the cleanliness of the site. The huge banner for the previous posts is also super large hiding the new post and this is a bit annoying too.
I understand that ads are payfull but from my point of view having an animated ad in the middle of a text you are reading is annoying and a total turn off.
Good job! Keep up with the awesome blog!
Cheers 🙂
