Facebook 3.1 Update Adds Push Notifications and Contacts Sync

Just a quick note that Facebook has a released their 3.1 update and it’s now live in the App Store. What does this new version bring? Well now you can get Push Notifications (which many people have been waiting for) and the choice to sync your Facebook contacts with your address book (including pictures).

You can choose from what kind of Push Notifications you want to receive. Take a look at the screenshots below:

Will it replace my contacts? Will it add missing contacts? Or will it just update my existing contacts? I'd hate to have all my facebook “friends” in my contacts book and in turn have those synced with google contacts…

Good news for Facebook users! I just wish Push notifications would be used for more apps, its slowly coming….

Be sure to update to Facebook v3.1.1 as v3.1 had many bugs.

I can't find the screen above to set which notifications are on/off. Can somebody point me to where this is?

go into settings and scroll down to facebook –> push notifications
