In exactly one week from today, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games will kick off here in Vancouver! It’s hard to believe that the Games are coming so soon. You can really feel the excitement in the city right now, as people are buzzing with excitement to host the world.

2010Guide: Official Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games iPhone App Released by Bell

If you’re going to be in Vancouver during the Olympics, and you have an iPhone, then you’re going to want this app. It’s the official 2010 Winter Olympics iPhone app by Bell, and this is one cool mobile spectator guide. The app is FREE, and it uses your location to help you navigate to and from the 2000+ sport and cultural events over the duration of the games.

Your location is used to tell you “What’s On Now” close to you, plus there are maps to over 80 venues, along with directions on how to get there (turn by turn directions!). This is a must-have app if you’re going to be enjoying the games in Vancouver!

The app adjusts to your time zone and also works without a data connection. You can plan an itinerary with a Favourites section and there’s also real-time news, photos, and twitter streams. I’ve been playing around with this app and it’s definitely pretty cool.

“The app you requested is not available in the Canadian store”. Sheesh!

An application about the Winter Olympics, being held in Canada, but it's not available in the Canadian iTunes store. Doesn't it just figure!?

And its by Bell. I think Bell submitted it wrong. I'm sure it will get fixed.

I was able to download from the Canadian App Store. Kudos to Bell for not putting carrier restrictions on the app, unlike Rogers who only let their subscriber use their Sportsnet and 680news app, really STUPID!

The app will NOT work via the link. If you access the App Store, just do a search for 2010. It should be the first result.

I always though a winter Olympics was held in a city they actually have winter. 10 C and rain doesn't exactly sounds like winter.

That is weird. I copied the link straight from iTunes. Just search for “2010guide” to get it!

It was straight from iTunes bud. Must be something wrong, but the link has been removed. Manually find it in the App Store by searching for 2010Guide!

LOL! You can also look back to the 1988 games in Calgary, as they had major snow issues too. Blame it on el niÃ±o!

This app does it: just select any event and click on “result” this pulls the appropriate result/live page straight from the vancouver2010 website

It shows up in the iPhone App Store, and downloads properly.

The only thing they need now is Push Notifications for things you favourite!

And, to make sure you DON'T use ANY data the app even ASKS if you want to download a schedule update and tells you how big the update will be!! Wow!
