Today Rogers reported that it has officially expanded its 21Mbps HSPA+ network to customers in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Regina. Rogers was the first wireless carrier in North America to launch a 21Mbps network back on September 14, 2009.
This is great news for existing customers that have Rogers devices that can take advantage of those speeds and for Rogers/Fido iPhone users. While the current iPhone cannot make use of 21Mbps, users will still notice a slight increase in data speeds.
Unfortunately Telus/Bell users still have to wait a while for iPhones.
While Saskatoon and Regina will have immediate access to the new network speeds, the release does indicate that Winnipeg customers will receive the new speeds provide-wide later this year.
