Pulse News iPhone App Now Free in the App Store

Pulse News is an app that is in Apple’s App Hall of Fame, and was even endorsed by Steve Jobs at WWDC as “a wonderful RSS reader”. The team behind Pulse, Alphonso Labs, recently told the New York Times that they just got $800,000 worth of VC funding.

This new found wealth has resulted in them giving away Pulse News app for iPhone/iPad for free. The hope is to draw more users and help them grow their business. Here are the features of Pulse:

★ Dashboard: With the dashboard layout, you can continue to browse stories as you read an article.

★ Offline sync: No internet? No problem. Pulse loads the news you read, and makes it available wherever you are.

★ Easy share: Found an interesting article? Sharing it via email, facebook, twitter and instapaper is as easy as 2 taps.

★ News discovery: Pulse features new publishers every Friday. You can also search for a source by simple keywords. Please note that you can add upto 20 sources in this version.

★ Stay up to date: Want to read the latest news as soon as its published? With a single tap, you can refresh all your sources instantly without ever leaving the application.

Pulse makes reading articles from your favourite site easy and makes content look beautiful, in a magazine style. You can also sign into your Google Reader account and add your existing feeds to Pulse with one tap.  Now that Pulse is free, this is a great time to check it out yourself.
