Rogers Internet Page Has Poorly Photoshopped iMac

Update: the image has been removed from the Rogers website.

The Rogers website has various images of Apple products, such as iPads and iPhones. However, on their Internet page, there is an image of an Apple iMac that has a missing Apple logo on the front–but poorly removed.

First spotted by our very own Ex a week ago, we thought Rogers would improve this image and didn’t think twice. Looks like we were wrong, because eagle-eyed iPhoneinCanada.ca reader Ryan, sent us a recent screenshot that shows it’s still up on the site.

As you can see, the Apple logo appears to have been removed via Microsoft Paint. You’d think someone at Rogers would have better skills to make that iMac look a little happier.

Check it out for yourself, as the dark shades of grey resemble the outline of the missing Apple logo:

Here’s a closer look:

Odd-looking product images aren’t unique to Rogers. Earlier today, ViewSonic announced their tablet, the ViewPad that can dual boot Windows 7 and Android 1.6 (yes, 1.6). However, their press image showed the ViewPad running OS X. Go figure. The thumbnail is below:

Rogers, I hope this gives you a heads up. 🙂

His point is that by generating useless posts, people will still come to the site and will therefore generate more revenue for him. Aka he can now go out for dinner

What is even worse is the picture on the screen! I’m a drag racing fan and top fuel dragsters do not have what looks to be a rocket type flame coming out between the 2 rear wheels. This has a supercharged engine demonstrated by the blower and scoop on the top of the engine (look between the top wing and large rear tire in image) and exhaust “headers” pictured as they should be just in front of the rear tires. This is where you will see flames during a run if its dark enough. They are typically almost white/yellow in appearance due to their temperature profile and fuel (nitromethane). The round rocket type opening in the back can be found in exhibition jet powered dragsters but 1) they have no engine in the car and 2) the flame is the wrong shape and colour. Even if this is depicting a typical engine explosion (common occurrence) you would never see it in this position (between the rear wheels). So someone has gone to the problem of taking an existing image, photoshopping logos out most likely and adding a ridiculous flame out the back to amp it up!! Typical Rogers. Weak.
