Google Tells MPs: Liberal Surveillance Bill Goes Beyond Any ‘Regime’ We’ve Seen
Google showed up to Parliament Hill this week with a blunt message for the Liberal government. Bill C-22 isn't a modernization of Canadian law enforcement. It's a surveillance regime that goes further than anything in the democratic world, and nobody at Google was even consulted before it was written. Jeanette Patell, Google's director of government...

ok now I give the thumbs up to release the jailbreak. Lol
Agreed. I feel a lack of info about the jailbreak for 4.3 that was supposed to come last weekend is not too cool. I haven’t got any issues with 4.2.1 so I’m not too disturbed, but I’d like to stay current if I can. I think others will agree. When apple decides to include features such as intelli-screen and Opennotifier, update the ‘settings’ app to allow quick access to wi-fi/bluetooth features, allow us to use our own custom text and Mail ringtones and alert sounds, and FaceTime over 3G, I’ll be happy and have no need for jailbreak. Put an end to this cat and mouse game!
Letting us choose our own ringtones is something that will either never happen or it will take Apple a lot of beating to give in, since buying ringtones from itunes is where Apple’s big chunk of change comes from. All I need is LockInfo and SBSettings equivalent to no longer jailbreak.
Why not make your own ringtones? Google it it’s pretty easy … Making your own SMS alerts is more difficult
The ring tone thing isn’t the real issue, it’s the text/mail alert sounds. You have to be jailbroken to add your own. Also I like status bar indicators, and SBsettings is more convenient than “Settings”app. Apple is getting closer, but isn’t quite there yet. I’ve even looked in the app store for apps that are similar to what Cydia offers, it’s just not the same. I respect Apple’s desire to ‘control’ the ‘quality’ if the apps it sells, but eventually I think they need to start considering ways to include more features natively in the OS. Much like how the new wi-fi hot spot thing has.
and there is no match for biteSMS, I don’t think Apple will/can ever have similar functionality implemented in official firmware.
