The Street Food iPhone app is currently available for Vancouver, Calgary and Boston. The developers have added Toronto to that list, and Street Food Toronto will debut tomorrow in the App Store. The newest app will enable foodies to locate the following food trucks: Blue Donkey, Caplansky Deli Truck, Cupcake Diner, El Gastronomo Vagabundo, Food Cabbie, Gorilla Cheese, and Toasted Tangerine.
The Street Food Toronto app will be similar to its Calgary and Vancouver versions. Users will be able to find out the hours of operation for food trucks and where they are located. Optional push notifications are available so you know when a food truck hits the streets. Food truck operators can also use the app to update their status within the app.
Toby from Street Food tells us their Vancouver app has hit 35,000 downoads and is used on average of 2000-2500 per day at peak times. The Calgary app has over 10,000 downloads and is also used around the same range on busy days. If you love food trucks than these apps are essential for your livelihood.
