The European Telecommunications Institute (ETSI) announced last month that it has adopted a standardized design for next-generation SIM cards a.k.a the nano-SIMs which are are approximately 40 percent smaller than the current micro-SIM used in Apple’s iPhone 4 and 4S. Today, all those rumors suggesting that Apple’s next generation iPhone will also feature a nano-SIM have been confirm thy BGR‘s exclusive report that iPhone 5 will indeed support these tiny SIM cards.
The report further claims that multiple carriers including AT&T have received these nano-SIMs from Apple for compatibility testing on their respective networks.

It’s been rumored that the new iPhone will feature an even smaller SIM card than what’s used now, and we can confirm that the new iPhone will feature these tiny SIM cards called nano-SIMs. Multiple carrier sources have exclusively told BGR that Apple is supplying nano-SIM adapters so its carrier partners can test how nano-SIMs work on their networks in standard test devices before they are widely deployed when the new iPhone is introduced. This includes AT&T.

How can you call this a confirmed fact if Apple has not confirmed the story?
Agreed. He did this with his last article about cases. Doesn’t this guy purport to be a doctor? One would think he would have a better understanding of the definition of such a common word.
Usman you are way to liberal with the word “Confirmed” in all your blogs. It’s not confirmed until Apple says its confirmed.

Further to my comment below, I’d actually be slightly surprised to see this in iphone 5 (if that’s what they call it). Considering this standard was just adopted last month in Europe, I’d suspect that it might be a little late for the next phone model. I’d assume that Apple was fairly close to a final version by then and to hedge their bets on the SIM standard going through, had they made the next phone with this new SIM, would be risky IMO.
I’m pretty sure this was the SIM that Apple designed if my memory serves me correctly … I’m pretty sure they will call it The New iPhone.

I’m shocked that half the comments have been removed on this post … Don’t blame us YOUR READERS if we are not thrilled about the constant misuse your writer has with the word “Confirmed”. I agree that most likely nano SIMs will be used in the next generation iPhone … HOWEVER looking at Apples history of complete secrecy and surprises this is NOT confirmed until Tim Cook is standing on a stage in California demonstrating – End of Story.
