Looks like someone got their iPhone 5 earlier than the rest of us. YouTube user Blentron (from Toronto) sent us the following video, which he claims is the first real Canadian iPhone 5 unboxing. It’s recorded with the iPhone 4S and shows us how it will take two hands to unbox an iPhone 5.

Update: Turns out this is an iPhone 5 locked to Rogers and it arrived this morning.

For the video above – what specific model is this one?
Last winter for the iPad 3, my tracking info only appeared the day before expected delivery, and even then it only showed that the shipment originated in Mount Hope (Hamilton – UPS depot). This leads me to believe that Apple spreads out bulk shipments across the continent, then break them down for further distribution a day or two before delivery date.
EDIT – now that the post has been updated to indicate that this was a locked Rogers phone, it makes a bit more sense.

ups tracking has stated that it has been delivered to my rogers location this morning (wednesday)
Mine arrived at the rogers store today at 11h. It will be waiting for me until Friday I suppose.
Ahahaha. It’s hilarious how long it takes him to open the box. 😛 And then, SURPRISE! There’s an iPhone inside. I don’t get the appeal of unboxing videos. I did one for the original iPad, and then realized how dumb it was. 😛
ordered mine from rogers last friday and was #353 on the list for a 32Gb white iphone 5. I got ups tracking yesterday and it was delivered to my rogers store this morning. They even called me and said I could drop by right now to get it. I was a little skeptical, but I work just around the corner, so I dropped by during lunch break and MY iphone 5 was indeed right there. I even held the box in my hands 🙂 BUT.. the poor girl obviously didnt know rogers policy very well. Sh really tried to enter my number in the system and process my upgrade … she even called Rogers to ask how to do it, but she was then told that she absolutly couldn’t do it before friday. So she was very sorry and had to ask me to come back on friday. She replaced my iphone 5 box with the label with my name on it under the counter and thats it. But now at least I know for sure that I will be able to get it on friday 🙂 And it is definitly possible for someone in canada to unbox one as of today.

what are you guys current a # out of? im on a business plan so i ordered it through biz solutions and im 17/1000 but i called in to ask when it would ship and all they said was they dont know and its one big reservation system. seems like a small amount if only 1000 people ordered rogers 32GB black ones…

Wow lol.. I never knew they glued the boxes together with super glue! What was wrong with him lol…Jesus, my order is still at preparing for shipment and I ordered unlocked right at 3:13 am…. So impatient…lol I hate waiting…and the UPS trick didn’t work for me. Anyways, glad dude got his phone. 🙂

Ok it’s looking like its better to pre-order locked iPhone 5’s thought the reservation system because my wife’s white 16gb has been confirmed to arrive at the the location on Friday and my iPhone unlocked pre-order which was purchased at 12:03am still says Preparing For Shipment. This is ridiculous.
