Apple Executive Eddy Cue is Now on Ferrari’s Board of Directors

Ferrari has announced Apple executive Eddy Cue has joined their board of directors, notes AppleInsider. His addition to Ferrari will be to assist the car company with its internet initiatives, a specialty of Cue:

Ferrari’s chairman Luca di Montezemolo:

“I am delighted that Eddy Cue, one of the main driving forces behind Apple’s range of revolutionary products, has now joined our board. His huge experience in the dynamic, innovative world of the Internet will be of great assistance to us.” 

Here’s Eddy Cue’s statement on this announcement: 

“I am pleased and proud to become a member of the board. I have personally dreamed of owning a Ferrari since I was 8 years old and have been lucky to be an owner for the past 5 years. I continue to be awed by the world-class design and engineering that only Ferrari can do,” said Eddie Cue, commenting on his nomination to the board. 

Eddy Cue is Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services (a promotion from Sept. 2011), reporting to CEO Tim Cook. He has played an integral part in overseeing Apple’s content stores such as iTunes, the App Store, the iBookstore, iAd and also iCloud services.
