How to Bring Back the Sidebar and Status Bar in iTunes 11

iTunes 11 was released today by Apple as expected. The new look of iTunes 11 is clean and minimal without all the clutter from before. But for those who want to revert back to the old look, a couple quick switches can make everything seem normal again. In this case, bringing back the sidebar and status bar.

How to do it? Easy. Just go to “View” in the menu and click on ‘Show Status Bar’ and ‘Show Sidebar’.

Once that’s completed, you’ll see a familiar looking iTunes again:

I’ve been really happy with it so far. I love the ‘up next’ feature for playing music. An obvious oversight and its too bad it took this long to add, but its nice to finally have it.

I was very disappointed to see they removed cover flow. A big loss in my opinion.

I like the new iTunes, but I feel it could have been made even simpler and cleaner. Some things I find more enjoyable and easy to do, others I don’t. But overall, I’m content.
