OnePlus Watch 3 is officially available in Canada for $449 and comes with an improved battery life.
This iPhone 5 Protected by Liquipel 2.0 Nano Coating Goes Swimming [VIDEO]
Last year Liquipel debuted their nano coating, which required customers to send in their devices to be sprayed down entirely, making them fully waterproof enough to be submerged in water.
This year at CES 2013, the company has announced Liquipel 2.0, their next generation nanotechnology, that the company claims is 100 times better than its predecessor:
“Liquipel version 2.0 is a huge advancement for super-hydrophobic nanotechnology,” said Danny McPhail, Liquipel’s Head of Product Development and Co-Founder. He further stated, “The release of 2.0 represents our ongoing R&D commitment to advancing our technology and products. Innovation is the key to our success. Our customers have reconfirmed that the science behind 2.0 places us at the forefront of the industry.”
Liquipel 2.0 is a coating the company claims is microscopic and “forever lasting”, untraceable, and does not affect the integrity of your device. Engadget visited the Liquipel 2.0 booth for a demo of the latest technology which was protecting the following iPhone 5 as it was being dunked into a tank of water.

Liquipel protection ranges from $59-$89, depending on the extras that come with the application and your choice of priority application time.

I can’t help to think that this should come standard on all iPhones.
Yeah that would be pretty awesome. But if applications failed on some units and people were dumb enough to test it out…I could see a major headache for exchanges and returns.
Cool stuff. It should be on every device. I wonder if that glass container will break at some point cuz that iPhone falls fast and hard to the bottom. I’m sure it’s dinging up the iPhone as well.
Sure I trust that the coating protects the phone, what I wouldn’t trust is sending my phone away to be coated…. (nor could I endure not having a phone during the mailing process)

and Tom is correct… Apple should just run every phone through this process (buy it) as a value-add. Yet another reason to not consider anything other then Apple…
I think the best time to send it in is when you upgrade. For example, you get the iPhone 5, before transferring your stuff from your 4, you send it in, then when it comes back all waterproofed, you transfer then sell your old iPhone. This obviously isn’t applicable to every case, but that’s surely what I would do.
Aren’t they working on the liquid pod booth? Means you you don’t to mail out your devices. All needed is just to walk into a local store and get them coated in a pod

I’d definitely invest in having mine coated, would mean I wouldn’t have to be too too careful with it. Just throw on a case and go.
