Fido Introduces $39 Canada-Wide Plan with 450 Minutes, 400MB Data

Back in February, Fido introduced a ‘limited time offer’ on a new $40 Canada-wide calling plan that included 150 daytime minutes and 200MB of data.

This morning, Fido updated its website to update this $40 plan to make it one dollar cheaper at $39/month, but also include 450 daytime minutes and 400MB of data. The plan also includes unlimited SMS/MMS, unlimited evenings and weekends at 6PM, call display, mini voicemail (3 messages at 3 minutes max, saved only for 3 days) and free Canadian long distance and Circle Calling:

Data overages are $5/200MB for the $39 plan, $5/500MB for the $50 plan, and $10/GB for the $60 plan.

Earlier this morning, Fido introduced new tab options for smartphones, the new Tab24/Tab36 plans to replace their standard 2 and 3 year agreements.

Not a bad plan. The new tab idea is awful.

this plan is horrible, i get everything unlimited at Wind Mobile. Don’t have any issues with them at all. stream music while driving and data for gps. unlimited lng canada and us clling , global text and sms with picture or video all unlimited, amazing voicemail call display , miss called sms notice and much more for $40. the other cell companies are raping us canadians ansd wind isn’t. that’s just my personal view.

Wind has good pricing but the areas I travel recieve little or no reception. therefore, i cannot switch to them.

If it weren’t for the BS mini voicemail, I might go for this.

Pretty good plan, especially as a publicly available retail plan. You used to have to go through retentions to get something like this.

Can you bring your own iPhone?
Trying to buy online stops at page where you must pick a phone to buy on monthly plan.

Awesome. Was thinking it last week. Jumping from last years All-in-one to this. A dollar saved with more data and minutes 🙂 thanks Gary!

It sucks that I use hardly any talk time but a decent amount of data, while my wife uses a ton of talk time and hardly any data. If we could just do a little swap there, we could save a lot of money.

OMG? A whole 400MB of data? Those dogs over at Fido really know how to spoil us. I can finally check all those emails and watch a whole 6 minutes of YouTube before going over my limit. Of course if I forget YouTube I might be able to squeeze in 30 minutes of streaming music. God, I just don’t know how they can afford to give us so much and ask for so little in return…

Oh, and let’s not forget about all those “anytime” minutes. It’s a good thing we live in an age where we value voice calls over data.

Don’t know what I am going to do next Feb. That’s when my 6gig data plan expires. I hope they let me renew it. and its 35 bucks, and my 15 dollar voice plan on top of that I am just under the 60 dollar mark. What happened to all the data we use to get, this new trend in voice over data is ridiculous
