Digg Reader Now Crawling Over 3.3 Million Feeds, Unread Count Fix Coming

Digg has announced this morning their new Digg Reader RSS infrastructure is scaling up nicely and is now crawling over 3.3 million feeds (it was at zero during the beginning of this week). If you haven’t heard yet, the Digg Reader iOS app (part of the Digg app) is available in the App Store. The full web release is coming soon.

Digg also offers the following update on these features:

  • Unread counts should be working shortly
  • View Only Unread and Mark As Unread are far and away our most requested features. The team is already working hard on them and you can expect to see it live next week!

It’s the best replacement so far… I hope the desktop version is just as good. I’ve tried feedly, but I’m not a huge fan of how it displays the content. And the Hootsuite RSS dashboard that was just released is a mess – not user friendly at all, and it cuts out.

I’ve been using the Digg iPhone app since it was released to keep up with interesting news. Now that my Google Reader account is gone, it seemed only natural to use Digg reader. Now I can see the latest news and keep up with my feeds in one, nicely designed app. Can’t wait for the unread count fix!
