Industry Canada Promo Explains “Canada’s Wireless Policy” [VIDEO]

Back in August, Ottawa debuted its ‘More Choices’ website to further explain its message against our wireless incumbent PR campaigns. Industry Canada has uploaded a video clip to its YouTube channel expressing how the federal government plans to lower prices and offer further competition when it comes to wireless in our country (it’s the same video shown on the More Choices website).

Check it out below:

More Choice. Lower Prices. Better Service.

On November 8, Ottawa will publish a final list of qualified bidders who have submitted 100% of their deposit and are eligible to participate in the upcoming 700MHz auction.

On January 14, 2014, the Government of Canada will start the 700 MHz auction of wireless airwaves needed for mobile networks.

These high-quality airwaves are being made available to carriers to provide Canadians with dependable, high-speed wireless services on the latest technologies.

The Government’s wireless policy for greater competition has already benefited Canadians through more choice, lower prices and better service. This trend will continue as a result of the upcoming auction because its rules were designed in the best interest of Canadian consumers.

Ottawa claims since 2008, prices have fallen by almost 20 per cent and wireless industry jobs have jumped by 25 per cent as a result of newer wireless entrant airwaves.

What do you think of the state of wireless competition in Canada?
