1Password Launches Extension for Third-Party iOS 8 Apps [VIDEO]
At the end of June we saw a demonstration of 1Password in iOS 8 being unlocked using Touch ID and with Safari extensions. Today, the Canadian company has announced the release of the 1Password App Extension, to be made available for third party apps in iOS 8.

The video below demonstrates how 1Password can be implemented by a developer to integrate right into their app and have credentials unlocked via Touch ID:
The video embedded here, produced by our fearless co-founder Dave Teare, speaks for itself. Thanks to Apple’s incredible new developer features in iOS 8, third-party apps can let 1Password fill Logins without the user ever leaving the app. Yep, complete with Touch ID for unlocking the vault. Yep, it’s this awesome.

Developers can utilize this by checking out the 1Password App Extension on GitHub with documentation and sample code.
This is going to be incredible. 1Password is an excellent password manager and once it’s integrated with Touch ID and also now into third party apps, life is going to get a heck of a lot easier.

will it integrate with safari though? because that’s still my main browser and the app that most needs access to my 1password database. although I guess if chrome adds the extension I could switch to that…
Yes

You’re right. Thanks and fixed
So, is this not what iOS 8 will do with Cloud Keychain anyway? That’s what I thought was going to happen – Apps had access to iCloud keychain.
