Have you been hunting for a monthly plan for your unlocked iPhone? Looks like Koodo just launched a new $45 per month promo plan, which offers the following:

  • 200 Canada-wide anytime minutes
  • 5PM unlimited evenings and weekends
  • Unlimited SMS/MMS
  • Call display, voicemail, call waiting, conference calling
  • 800 MB of data ($5/100MB overages, or $50/1GB)

The plan actually already includes the 10% off bring your own device (BYOD) discount—during check out the plan is listed as $50 but shows up as $45.

This promo plan offers 300 MB more data but has 300 fewer minutes compared to the regular $44/month plan.

Let us know if you’re going to jump on this. If you’re a Koodo user and want to jump on this plan, just call in and switch your account over. This might be the plan for casual and light data users.

That’s actually not that bad. I’d consider it if I ever had to switch (thank you 13 yr old corporate plan)

Terrible plan. Not long ago fido had unlimited voice, long distance, roaming and 500mb for 20$.

20? Where was that? I never remember a plan with data being $20

That’s what I have and I don’t have discounts on it.

Yeah. Why is that funny? At one point Fido had a $15 plan without data but voice wasn’t unlimited.

It’s funny because you’re full of it.

The only person that’s full of it is the one so incredulous to the truth that he has to resort to name calling. I pay $20 for my plan. Sorry you’re so jealous of it.

Name calling? LOL! No plan has ever existed except a retention plan. Yes a $15 voice plan existed, but there has never been a $20 plan with data from any carrier. Why down plans that are the best on the market at the time (yeah they’re still bad value)? I’m not jealous, I’ve paid a lot less for a lot more in other countries where I’ve lived.

I just checked and I stand corrected. This is PRECISELY my plan as Fido describes it:
Plan
$ 20 Standard Plan – 400 weekday minutes (7am to 6pm) – Unlimited Eve/Wknd minutes (Evenings Starting at 6 pm) – Unlimited incoming calls – Unlimited Canada-wide long distance – Unlimited text, picture and video messages from Canada to Canadian, U.S and international wireless numbers – Call Display – Voicemail – Unlimited Circle Calling – Call Waiting – Conference Call

It costs $10 extra for 200MB. Total: 30$

You’re right, my plan didn’t include data outright, but it still undercuts Koodo by 15$.

Looking at Fido’s site, you can get the 44$ plan for 500 minutes and 500MB – far better than Koodo’s offering.
