Ask the ‘Ooloo’ iOS App a Question and a Real Human Will Answer [Free]

Ooloo is a free app for iOS where you ask a question verbally, and a real human will respond with a written answer, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it claims. The app is a product of iDrive.com and the terms of the app state you agree to not ask questions that:

  • That violates rights such as trademark, patent, copyright, privacy or other proprietary rights of individuals or third party websites.
  • That is fraudulent, threatening, abusive, harassing, or invasive of another’s privacy.
  • That degrades, intimidates or harasses an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, age, or disability.
  • That is in violation of any applicable local, state, national or international law.
With that out of the way, below is an image of how Ooloo works:

Does Ooloo actually work? In our quick tests, sort of. We asked a few questions regarding local retailers in our area but didn’t get a response. The only reply we got was when we asked “how do I go to sleep?”, which resulted in the following response:

As you can see, there’s some humour used in responses, which users can rate either as Awesome, Good or Meh.

Don’t expect answers to come instantaneously—Ooloo explains they’re overwhelmed with replies so getting back to you may take a while. The app seems like more of a novelty at this point in time more than anything. If you need a real answer, use TalkTo instead.

Click here to download Ooloo for iOS—it’s free. It might bring some entertainment if you’re bored.

Update August 3, 2014: Looks like the app has been pulled from the Canadian App Store.
