SwiftKey Keyboard to Launch Alongside iOS 8 on September 17
During WWDC in June, Apple announced iOS 8 with a feature that few were expecting. The company’s latest mobile operating system will allow users to install third-party keyboards.
SwiftKey, a company that currently makes one of the most popular third-party keyboards on Android, has announced they will be releasing the SwiftKey Keyboard for iOS on September 17.
SwiftKey for iOS will offer users the ability to type using a swipe gesture. The keyboard gives you the ability to slide your finger from one letter to another to create a word without lifting your finger.
The third-party keyboard will also learn how you type thanks to SwiftKey’s Cloud service. The service will analyze how and what you type which allows it to give you better predictions. At launch, SwiftKey Keyboard will support English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish.

The new third-party keyboard, which will be available on all iOS 8 devices, will be made available to the public on the same day as iOS 8 is released. The company has not yet announced a price for the app. Currently on Android, SwiftKey is free with in-app purchase, which allow users to purchase different themes.
Will you be using a third-party keyboard on iOS 8 or will you stick with Apple’s built-in option? Let us know in the comments below.

I’ll definitely try it. Will I keep it? We’ll see…
Was amazing when I used an android (for 2 weeks). It’s one of the features I actually miss so this will definitely be welcomed and I think you might like it to. Best way to type in my opinion.
Is it available for ppl on iOS 8 currently?
Someone didn’t read the article.
Unless I’m missing it somewhere I didn’t see any reference of developers being able to try it early or not. Maybe I missed it
I need to see the layout when you need to enter a number… it’s horrible on the Android.
Might be a wonderful product and I am definitely going to try it. But what is with the bullshit, softsoap advert? Really!?!?!
